Costa Rica 13-Day Journey
Day 1: Arrival in San José
Your adventure begins as you're greeted at the Juan Santamaría International Airport and transported to your accommodation in San José. You’ll have 13 exciting days ahead, so settle in and prepare for the adventure that awaits!
Day 2: San José to Tortuguero
The journey starts early as we depart from San José, traversing the scenic Braulio Carrillo National Park. We'll pause for a delightful breakfast at a local eatery before continuing to Tortuguero National Park. Here, you'll embark on a boat ride through the park's rivers and canals, soaking in the stunning natural vistas.
Upon arrival at the lodge, enjoy a relaxing lunch. Afterward, we’ll explore Tortuguero itself, wandering its quaint streets and learning about the rich local customs. Keep an eye out for the turtle community that inhabits the surrounding area.
In the evening, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner and rest in preparation for the exciting activities ahead.
Day 3: Discovering Tortuguero National Park
Day three offers a chance to relax in the morning. After breakfast, enjoy leisure time at the hotel before embarking on an afternoon expedition to Tortuguero National Park. This park is renowned for its lush vegetation and is home to over 350 species of protected wildlife.
Following our excursion, we’ll head back to the lodge for dinner and a restful night.
Day 4: Journey from Tortuguero to Arenal
After an early breakfast, we’ll travel by boat to Guápiles, where we’ll stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Post-meal, we’ll continue on to Arenal. You’ll have the remainder of the day to explore and enjoy your surroundings.
Day 5: Arenal Volcano National Park
Following breakfast, we’ll visit the stunning Arenal Volcano National Park. Enjoy a guided tour where you’ll learn all about the majestic Arenal Volcano and its surrounding beauty. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as sloths, howler monkeys, anteaters, and many other remarkable creatures!
In the afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel, giving you the rest of the day to unwind as you wish.
Day 6: Arenal to Monteverde
After breakfast, we'll depart Arenal and make our way to Monteverde. Part of this journey includes a scenic boat ride across Lake Arenal. As we arrive in Monteverde, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of coffee plantations and cloud forests.
The entire afternoon is reserved for you to explore at your own pace.
Day 7: Monteverde Exploration
Kick off the day with breakfast before heading out for a hike through the renowned Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. This area is known to be one of the most significant private reserves globally. During the hike, expect to encounter various mammals, birds, butterflies, reptiles, and arachnids.
Return to your hotel to unwind after a day immersed in nature.
Day 8: Monteverde to Tamarindo
On day eight, prepare for a beach getaway. After breakfast, we’ll head to Tamarindo, one of Costa Rica's famed coastal destinations on the Pacific Coast, located in Guanacaste. Enjoy leisure time soaking in the sun or taking a refreshing swim before we settle into our hotel in Tamarindo for the night.
Day 9: Relaxing in Tamarindo
Embrace a day of relaxation! You’ll have the entire day free to revel in the sun and surf on the stunning beaches of Tamarindo.
Day 10: More Tamarindo Leisure
Continue your beach experience! Day ten offers you an entire day for sunbathing and enjoying the beautiful Costa Rican beaches.
Day 11: Discovering Tamarindo
Keep enjoying the vibrant Tamarindo area with a whole day set aside for exploration at your leisure.
Day 12: Return to San José
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to Tamarindo and make our way back to San José. When we arrive, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the city at your own pace.
Day 13: Departure
After your final breakfast, we’ll transport you to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your flight back home.
