Tour Options

During the booking process, you can select from three options depending on your time and preferred sites in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. All options include pickup at your hotel in Valledupar and return transfer, as well as an English-speaking guide.

Río Candela Private Tour (7 Hours)

After hotel pickup, we will explore the Colombian Caribbean coast, starting with a stroll through the park of the Vallenato composers. We will then visit a beautiful area of the Río Candela near La Mina, where you can swim in the refreshing river waters. A traditional lunch will be provided at El Mojao balneary before visiting an Indigenous community and the artisan Aura Montero in Atanquez.

Río Manaure Private Tour (7 Hours)

This option allows exploration of Colombian folklore. We will visit San Diego and La Paz, immersing in Vallenato culture. At Balcón del Cesar in Manaure, you will learn about local rural life. A traditional lunch will be followed by swimming in the Río Manaure and enjoying views from Mirador Otero.

Ciénaga de Zapatosa Private Tour (12 Hours)

This option includes a tour of the largest freshwater wetland in Colombia, Ciénaga de Zapatosa. After a boat ride from Chimichagua to Francahela Island and a delicious lunch, we will discuss local biodiversity. Wildlife spotting opportunities may include various native and migratory birds.
