À propos de cette activité

Can you imagine going from one ocean to another by crossing the Panama Canal? On this trip, we will traverse the locks of one of the most impressive engineering feats in the world.

Description

At the scheduled time, we will meet at Flamenco Marina to board a boat for a cruise on the Panama Canal, sailing from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. Before departure, a light breakfast will be served aboard the boat. Our first stop will be the Bridge of the Americas, connecting North and Central America with South America, where we will view a group of islands that appear to protect the Canal and the skyscrapers of Panama City.

Midway through the ride, we'll pause for lunch, then pass through the Miraflores lock, which lifts the boat to the highest level of the Canal at Gatún Lake. Following this, we will pass through the Pedro Miguel lock, and see the entrance to the Chagres River, the freshwater source of the Canal.

We will also traverse Gatún Lake, covering 425 square kilometers (162 square miles), which features several islands, including Isla de los Monos and Barro Colorado. This lake is one of the largest in the world.

After navigating the locks, we will arrive at the city of Colón on the Caribbean coast of Panama, where we will catch a bus for the return journey to Flamenco Marina, concluding a total of 11 hours together.
