This tour offers you a unique insight into Bahamian culture, a tour of traditional and cultural sites of the island! An experience not to be missed during your stay in Nassau. A journey through Bahamian history: the plantations that dotted the vibrant tropical landscapes.
The tour begins aboard a bus, with a scenic excursion on the way to Clifton Heritage Park. Upon arrival at Clifton Plantation, you will be greeted with a complimentary traditional beverage. You will see the 18th century ruins of the Whylly Plantation, which stands on land inhabited by the first native Bahamians, the Lucayan Indians. At the Heritage Park you can take a guided tour of the entire facility. Discover what plantation life was like more than two centuries ago. We also recommend an ecological tour of the area to see the different types of vegetation and fauna native to the area.
If you wish you can enjoy a beach area with snorkeling possibilities, this activity is on your own and under your own responsibility as it is not included in the main excursion. Lunch is served in a shaded pavilion or on the beach, enjoy a delicious Bahamian meal. After lunch, you will have time to stroll through a mini zoo, which is home to some of the species of animals that were once bred on the Clifton Plantation. At the end of the day, the bus will return you to your hotel.
