Saint Martin, Saint Martin Island

About this activity

Take a quick visit to our origins at the Emilio Wilson Museum after soaring up the mountain on the Sky Explorer, and take in the marvelous 360° views from the top of Sentry Hill, St. Maarten’s highest point at 1,125 feet! The museum tells the powerful story of Trace Wilson, who was born into slavery on this very land, and her direct descendant, Emilio Wilson, who dedicated his life to preserving the island’s heritage.

Guests will see authentic depictions of life on a plantation and gain insight into the customs, traditions, and stories that earned Sint Maarten the nickname “The Friendly Island.”

Then, embark on a tranquil ride up two lifts spanning a total of 2,997 feet, offering breathtaking views as the landscape unfolds below. The Soualiga Sky Explorer chairlifts are made up of sixty-eight, four-passenger chairs, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ascent to the summit.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for an unforgettable experience, this tour is the perfect way to explore St. Maarten’s past and present while taking in some of the most stunning views in the Caribbean.
