About this activity

Swim alongside whale sharks in the Mexican Caribbean and enjoy a unique experience that combines adventure, nature, and a visit to Isla Mujeres.

What to do

Prepare to experience one of the most extraordinary adventures the Mexican Caribbean has to offer: a face-to-face encounter with the whale shark, the largest fish on the planet. During the season, the waters between Isla Mujeres and Holbox become one of the best places in the world to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

Your adventure begins with a scenic cruise across the Caribbean Sea, accompanied by an expert guide who will explain the safety procedures and share fascinating insights about this incredible species. Once your snorkeling gear is ready, the moment you have been waiting for arrives: entering the water for an unforgettable encounter. When the unmistakable silhouette of a whale shark appears beneath the surface, you will quickly understand why this is considered one of the most remarkable wildlife experiences in the world. Swim alongside these gentle giants, which can grow over 10 meters (33 feet) long and weigh up to 18 tons. Despite their impressive size, they move calmly through the water, feeding on plankton as they glide effortlessly through the ocean.

More than just a snorkeling activity, this is a rare opportunity to connect with one of the ocean’s most fascinating species.

After this unforgettable experience, the adventure continues on the beautiful shores of Isla Mujeres. Relax on one of the Caribbean’s most stunning beaches, enjoy its crystal-clear turquoise waters, and savor a delicious lunch with refreshing drinks while taking in the spectacular surroundings.

If you are looking for a truly unique experience during your vacation, this is your chance. Sail across the Caribbean, swim with whale sharks, discover breathtaking landscapes, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
