Mayan Night

Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico

About this activity

What to do

We will take you to the Dos Palmas Ecological Reserve, where a small Mayan community still preserves its living traditions. Here, you will have the opportunity to interact with the inhabitants, learn about their customs, and immerse yourself in the mysticism of their rituals. In this community, the passage of daylight rather than the clock marks the beginning of different rituals. However, you will know it is time to prepare for the Mayan ceremony when night falls.

Before starting, you must receive an induction, where they will explain everything you need to know and answer your questions about the purification ceremony. This way, you will be ready in body, mind, and soul to create a connection with Mother Earth.

This encounter is more than what you have been told; experiencing it is an uplifting experience that allows you to connect with every being in the world. That is why a local shaman will be present to guide everyone in this act of ancestral purification. Remember to follow their instructions.

It's time to take a steam bath in the traditional Temazcal as part of the ceremony, then go for a moonlit walk along a path that leads to a cenote. You can bathe in the moonlight if you wish (and we recommend it). Imagine how magical it is to immerse yourself in crystal-clear waters surrounded by abundant vegetation!

To conclude the experience, it is time to nourish the body. A Mayan family will welcome you into their home to share sacred food. This is how the ritual ends, and then it is time to return to your hotel.
