The Chacahua Lagoon National Park is a significant destination in Puerto Escondido, offering a glimpse into one of the most remarkable areas along the Oaxaca coast.
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, you will be picked up from your hotel in Puerto Escondido. We will head north for approximately 1.5 hours until we arrive at El Zapotalito, the dock where our aquatic adventure begins.
We'll board a comfortable speedboat, equipped with a roof, to discover the stunning lagoons of the area. Over the next 1.5 hours, we will navigate through mangrove tunnels and around small islands, providing insights about the local fauna and flora. Look out for migratory birds, river crocodiles, and various mangrove species in this enchanting environment!
Upon arrival at Chacahua Bay, you'll be welcomed by an inviting beach with clear waters and soft golden sand. You will have 3.5 hours of free time to swim, bask in the sun, or explore the beach area. If you wish, you can also indulge in the local cuisine at one of the seafront restaurants, where we recommend trying the thinly sliced fish, a local specialty!
Your return journey will begin with a speedboat ride back to El Zapotalito, taking in the lagoon's natural beauty once again. Following this, we will travel overland back to Puerto Escondido. We will conclude the day with farewells at your accommodation after a total of 9 hours.
HOW IT WORKS?
This trip includes a round trip from your hotel, speedboat transportation through Chacahua Lagoon, and 3.5 hours of free time at Chacahua Bay. Please note that meals and drinks are not included in the price. The meeting point is at your hotel, from where the journey to El Zapotalito begins.
