International Coastal Cleanup Day: In 2008, ICC activities in Jamaica came under the control of the Jamaica Environment Trust (JET). That year, 27 groups worked with 1,800 volunteers to clean 34 beaches across the island. Since 2008, the event has grown and now more than 9,000 volunteers help clean more than 140 beaches across the island each year.
