Explore the volcanic area of Las Hornillas and discover natural landscapes surrounded by fumaroles, hot springs and forest trails in an experience that combines adventure, wellness and nature in Costa Rica.
The experience begins with a walk through Las Hornillas, an active volcanic area near Miravalles Volcano where you’ll observe mud pots, fumaroles, hot rocks and crystallized sulfur while exploring trails surrounded by geothermal activity. The visit takes place in a secondary volcanic crater area.
After the walk, you’ll relax with a volcanic mud bath followed by free time in the natural hot springs and sauna surrounded by nature. The experience includes access to three thermal pools ideal for relaxing after the outdoor activities.
The adventure continues toward the waterfalls and Cerro Muco, where internal transportation takes place by tractor or horseback riding, depending on the day’s operation. Along the route, you’ll cross a 40-meter hanging bridge with views of a waterfall surrounded by tropical forest.
The experience also includes a walk through primary forest trails where, with some luck, you may spot birds, reptiles and other local wildlife species native to the region.
