Explore Las Hornillas and unwind in the hot springs of Miravalles Volcano!
Start your day at Las Hornillas, an active geothermal area where you’ll walk among bubbling mud pots, watch steam vents rising from the ground, and admire hot rocks and crystallized sulfur in a truly unique natural landscape. Please note: the visit is to a secondary crater area, not the main crater.
Next, enjoy a rejuvenating volcanic mud bath, followed by a soak in three 100% natural hot spring pools and a relaxing sauna experience. After all that adventure and relaxation, recharge with a delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch full of authentic local flavors.
The experience continues with a visit toward the waterfalls and Cerro Muco, where internal transportation is done by tractor or horseback (depending on the day’s operation). Along the way, you’ll cross a hanging bridge of about 40 meters that leads you to a breathtaking waterfall viewpoint.
To finish, take a walk along primary forest trails, where you may spot local wildlife such as birds, reptiles, and more. Also, keep in mind an estimated travel time of about 1 hour 40 minutes each way (may vary with traffic).
