Tour Details
The tour begins by meeting at Café Chantonner Delikatessen. We’ll proceed to the Gold Museum to view pre-Columbian art.
Next, we head to the San Francisco Church, known for its altars covered in gold leaf. We then walk to the Plaza de Bolívar to learn about key political and religious institutions. Continuing along 10th Street, we will see significant buildings including the Colegio de San Bartolomé, House of Manuelita Sáenz, and the houses of Viceroy Sámano.
The tour continues to the House of the Marquis of San Jorge and the Custodia de la Lechuga Museum. We will visit the Botero Museum to admire Botero's sculptures, then see La Candelaria Church, where we will have a short break for coca tea before heading to Chorro de Quevedo, the founding site of Bogotá.
Next is Plaza de la Concordia, where we will have a fruit tasting, sample chicha, and enjoy a traditional lunch with ajiaco and curuba juice, along with a typical sweet.
After lunch, we will take a vehicle to Monserrate Hill. Depending on availability, we'll ride the cable car or funicular to the top for panoramic views of Bogotá.
The tour concludes after visiting Monserrate and descending, wrapping up this full-day experience.
Partial Closures
- On Mondays, the Gold Museum is closed. We will visit the Esmeralda Museum or the Casa de la Moneda Museum and an exhibition in the Colonial Art Museum.
- On Tuesdays, the Botero Museum is closed. Instead, we will visit the Esmeralda Museum or the Military Museum, based on preference.
